As a Pre-university College, MVJPUC understands the importance of the JEE Main and Advanced exams for our students. These exams determine the future of our students and their chances of enrolling into prestigious institutions such as the IITs, NITs, and other distinguished engineering colleges. With the JEE Main 2023 exams approaching, here are some tips for our students to crack this challenging test and come out in flying colours.
The first step in preparing for JEE Main and Advanced is to understand the syllabus. The JEE Main syllabus is similar to what you learn in Class 11 and 12 NCERT syllabi. To ensure that you have a strong foundation, we highly recommend that you start with the NCERT books. These books provide the base for JEE Main, and approximately 60-70% of the JEE Main paper is based on NCERT books.
Once you have a clear understanding of the NCERT syllabus, we suggest that you move on to reference books. These books cover topics from Basic to Advanced level, and match the JEE syllabus. Books by reputed authors such as R.D Sharma, Dr. S K Goyal Arihant Publications, S.L. Loney, J.D. Lee, O.P. Tandon, R.C. Mukherjee, Morrison and Boyd, I.E. Irodov, H.C. Verma and D.C. Pandey are recommended.
In addition to traditional study methods, we also advocate that you take advantage of online resources. The internet provides access to educational content and study materials such as chapter-wise PDFs, video tutorial sessions, and live and recorded lectures. By using these resources, you will be able to supplement your learning, and gain a deeper understanding of the topics.
What is the best way to retain the information you have learned? Well, follow the time-tested method of revising everyday, and clearing any doubts or queries you might have. Practice solving the JEE question papers of previous years. By doing this, you will be able to understand the question pattern and mark scheme from each topic. You will also be able to improve your problem-solving skills and speed.
We also highly recommend that you attempt mock tests. These tests are available on the official website of NTA and other websites. By taking these tests, you will be able to familiarize yourself with the exam, which in turn will improve your confidence. You will be able to manage your time, efficiently.
Lastly, we suggest that while preparing, you make short notes of the important facts, shortcuts, formulas etc. This will help you to revise effectively. One last word - do take care of your physical and mental well-being.
